premiere
Premiere is a movie TCG (Trading Card Game). This site has been set up to celebrate the movies! From collecting characters from your favourite actors/actresses to collecting movie posters from your favourite films. At Premiere we hope to cover a broad range of movies, bringing out new cards regularly with special decks such as the trailer cards! Premiere originally opened in late 2004 but closed due to personal issues, now we are back with a brand new enthusiasm and we want you to join in the fun!
Premiere has been designed and coded to be as automated as possible both on public view and behind the scenes. Premiere will never miss a game update, as games have been created in advance and will automatically update every Monday at 00.01 (server time). The whole site has been carefully planned to make updating quick and easy as possible which gives us more time to work on card sets and other aspects.
All code & scripts within Premiere have been coded by ourselves (Dal & Rain), no other scripts have been used.
how to play
A TCG is very similar to trading card games that you play in the real world just based online.
Getting Started
To join members need a trade post (web site) to which they can upload and display their cards. On this trade post they usually place a current level badge, card total (amount and worth), a link back to the tcg (usually done through the level badge) and a trade log (a detailed record of how cards were obtained).
Upon starting every member receives a starter pack which is then uploaded to the players web site. Players usually divide their cards up into collecting, saving, trading categories so that other members know what cards they are wanting and willing to trade.
Earning Cards
Cards can then be earned various ways
• Playing games
• Update giveaways
• Donating card sets, level badges, link buttons, etc.
• Completing sets
• Leveling up
• Referring new members
Trading with other members
Cards can be traded with other members, to trade Player A simply contacts another member either through email or a form on their trade post, requesting a card that they would like and a card that they will offer (sometime this is left for player B to choose from player A). When a card has been offered usually players then place this in a 'pending' category so other players can see this card may not be available. Please remember that you trade by card worth, for example if you were to trade a rare card (worth 3), you would expect to receive a card back of that value (another rare card) or cards totaling that worth (3x normal cards (worth 1 each) or 1 special card (worth 2 each) + 1 normal card). Upon a successful trade each player must take down their traded card or cards and replace with the card or cards they had traded for.
When contacting other members please be polite and courteous. Not all members will want to trade certain cards so please be aware that sometime trades are refused.
Keeping a Trade Log
It is mandatory on all Trade Post sites that a trade log is kept. This log is a detailed record of how you received every card in your deck and is vital for TCG owners to check that members are not cheating.
To ensure that your log is correct it is usually laid out in the following manner:
Date card was obtained - card name and number where it was obtained from.
e.g.
01/01/2008 - alice03, alice09, thumper01, jacksparrow02, barbossa08 received from starter pack.
02/01/2008 - alice 01 and admit_10 received from daily question.
03/01/2008 - Traded thumper01 for <player name>'s alice02
Card count
Players keep a card count to track the number of cards they have so they know when they have progressed a level. A card count is the number of cards the player has, card worth is the worth of these cards. Not all cards are worth 1 card. Special are worth 2 each, whilst rare cards are worth 3 each. When leveling up we look at the card worth not amount.
